Dao Din members face arrest for failing to report illegal gatherings

KHON KAEN, 19 June 2015 -Seven Khon Kaen university students who belong to the Dao Din group could be arrested for failing to report themselves to the police.

If the students fail to make an appearance on Thursday, the 7,500 baht bail put up for each student will be seized and the matter forwarded to military court. All suspects could be arrested once warrants are issued.

Armed forces and police have been stationed in Khon Kaen municipality to prevent activities by the group, which were deemed to incite public unrest.

Authorities had previously barred the activist group from holding a rally on June 24 in in the province to commemorate the 1932 Siamese Revolution. The students planned a rally to mark the revolution engineered by a military and civilian group.
