Curtain falls on OTOP TO AEC Fair, revenue tops THB70mn

BANGKOK – The OTOP TO AEC Fair at the Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem Market has come to a close, generating more than 70 million baht for participating vendors over the 23-day period.

Gen Wilas Aroonsri, Secretary-General to the Prime Minister, today presided over the closing ceremony of the OTOP TO AEC Fair. In his speech, he cited the event as a great success and revealed survey results that indicated visitors’ satisfaction with the types of products being offered, the overall picture of the fair and its duration.

After having been launched by the Ministry of Interior on November 3rd, the fair welcomed more than 220,000 visitors and brought in over 70 million baht during its course of 23 days. Gen Wilas stated that the event successfully established direct contact between sellers and buyers in compliance with the Prime Minister’s initiative while providing the public with access to a wide array of quality and affordable OTOP products.

During the closing ceremony, the Prime Minister’s Secretary-General presented the Ministry of Commerce with the name plaque of the Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem Market, designating the Ministry as the host of the next event which will feature Father’s Day and New Year gifts. It is scheduled to take place from December 1st to 24th, between 10 am and 7 pm daily.
