CMU to host Thailand Studies Conference and Asia Scholars Convention in 2017

Chiang Mai University and Pingkanakorn Development Agency signed an agreement to host two separate events in 2017; the 13th International Conference on Thai Studies and the 10th International Convention of Asia Scholars – ICAS10 in July, 2017 at the International Convention Center.

The signing was attended by Governor Pawin Chaminprasart, acting as Executive Managing Director of Pingkanakorn Development Agency and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rome Jiranukom, Acting for Vice-Rector for Foreign Relations and Alumni, Chiang Mai University, Dr. Chayan Watthanaphut, Director of Regional Center for Social Science and Sustainable Development: RCSD, Faculty of Social Sciences, Chiang Mai University, and Netnapa Suthidhamrongdhama, Director of Pingkanakorn Development Agency (Public Organization).

The 13th International Conference on Thai Studies will be hosted by Chiang Mai University for Thai and international academicians to present academic works relating to Thai studies and to exchange experience, research work, and create academic networks. About 600 people are expected to participate in the conference that will be held from July 15 – 18, 2017.

The 10th International Convention of Asia Scholars – ICAS10 will be held in cooperation with Chiang Mai University and the International Institute for Asia Studies (IIAS), Netherland. The convention will offer a stage for the presentation of academic works of international scholars interested in Asian Studies. Around 1,200 people are expected to attend the event held at the International Convention Center form July 20 – 23, 2017.
