BANGKOK, 28 June 2015 (NNT) – The Constitution Drafting Committee has made some progress in the review of the changes to the draft charter, in accordance with proposals made by all related parties.

CDC’s Second Vice President Manich Sooksomchitra said on Saturday that the charter drafters have already looked at Article 48 after starting the review of proposed changes to the draft Constitution a few days ago.

Mr. Manich said that during the review of Article 48, which is related to the freedom of the media, the CDC has made some adjustments which resulted in more freedom for the citizens of Thailand.

He added that, even though the changes were made to this article, the principles related to the duties of the media have been maintained.

Mr. Manich elaborated that the media would still have to perform their jobs under the code of ethics while providing accurate and clear news and information to the public.
