Campaign to set up drinking water donation centers for drought victims to be proposed to the Cabinet

BANGKOK, 21 July 2015, M.L. Panadda Diskul, Permanent Secretary to the Prime Ministers’ Office, is expected to propose to the Cabinet a campaign to establish drinking water donation centers for drought victims in 53 provinces. Similarly, several provinces have launched drinking water distribution centers.

According to M.L. Panadda, if the campaign is approved, then it would accept donations in forms of cash, drinking water, and water purification equipment.

Meanwhile, the provinces of Nakhon Phanom, Singburi, Phitsanulok, and Lopburi have erected royally bestowed drinking water distribution centers to relieve drought-affected areas. Those interested can contact their provincial administration offices for more information.

The program was initiated out of His Majesty the King’s concern for the drought-affected public.
