Bosch supports Skill for Life Foundation Chiang Mai

The Skills for Life Foundation Chiang Mai received support from  Bosch Thailand Co.,Ltd  to provide educational support for tribal children for two years at the Foundation on March 4, 2016.

The Robert Bosch Foundation was established over fifty years ago and has become one of the most important foundations in Europe and Germany. It is one of the largest foundations supported by a private organization in Germany. The Foundation encourages people to take responsibility and assists them in doing so.

Bosch Thailand Managing Director Joseph Hong met with Dominique Leutwiler, Founder of Skills for Life Foundation to present 290,000 baht to support the education of students at the Foundation for the next two years.

Joseph Hong said that this is the second year the Bosch Thailand Co.,Ltd  had provided funds to support children’s educations at Skills for Life. Last year the Bosch Foundation provided kitchenware and financial support over 300,000 baht to teach students how to make desserts which were auctioned off and sold to raise funds.

The Skills for Life students have developed the business to deliver to local spas and coffee shops enabling them to earn money and learn how to do business. The Bosch Thailand Co.,Ltd  also supports the Hand to Hand Foundation in Pattaya.

Founder of Skills for Life Foundation Dominique Leutwiler said that the Foundation currently has nineteen children under its care; seven boys and twelve girls coming from disadvantaged backgrounds. The Foundation is supporting their education in schools, vocational schools and universities in the area until graduation in addition to the vocational training for baking and sending kids to do internships in hotels and agriculture including a stable boy project with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Chiang Mai University.
