Bangkok poll: majority favors opposition party in the censure debate

BANGKOK, MARCH  20 2011 (NNT) – Bangkok Poll disclosed the majority favored the Opposition due to their superior debate and reliable information compared to the Government.

The results of the public survey of those aged 18 years and more, from every field of occupations nationwide, under the topic “What people think of the censure debate of Prime Minister Abhisit Vejajiva and other 9 ministers” found that, the public favors the Opposition at 6.5 point out of 10, 4 points to government, and 6 points to Parliament President. Almost half of the public said they trust the information provided by the Opposition party more. On the other hand, 19 percent of public relies more on the Government and 30 percent takes no side.

As for the credibility gap towards Prime Minister and other 10 ministers, Prime Minister Abhisit got 57 percent. Other ministers, Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thuagsuban came top with 71 percent, followed by Commerce Minister, Pornthiva Nakasai 70 percent, and Interior Minister Chaovarat Chanweerakul at 69 percent.
