BANGKOK, 14 June 2015 – Bangkok Governor M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra has inspected the efficiency of drainage systems in Wang Thong Lang and Lat Prao districts ahead of the rainy season.

The governor, along with the Bangkok permanent-secretary and executives of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, on Sunday traveled to the Khlong Song Krathiem pumping station in Wang Thong Lang district to check if it operated efficiently. The pumping station installed a reinforced concrete dam in December 2014 in order to facilitate the pumping of water at seven and nine cubic meters/second through Lat Phrao and Chan canals respectively.

The Khlong Song Krathiem pumping station helps with the drainage in Lat Phrao and Wang Thong Lang districts, including Lat Phrao road and Soi Choke Chai 4.

The Department of Drainage and Sewerage has implemented 15 projects to improve drainage efficiency in all canals across Bangkok. The Khlong Song Krathiem pumping station is one of the completed projects.
