Army medical staff prepared for dry-season epidemics

BANGKOK – The Thai Army Medical Department has organized a training course for army medical staff to get well-prepared for epidemic control during dry season.

The department’s director general, Lt Gen Triroj Krutvecho, observed the training course for the army medical staff in preparation for contagious diseases which have been frequently found in winter such as a cold and an influenza as well as the diseases transmitted by insects, including dengue fever, malaria and scrub typhus.

More than 200 army medical staffers from army hospitals and other army medical units throughout the country have attended the training course held at Phramongkutklao Hospital, Bangkok.

The training covered the methods of diagnosis, treatments as well as guidelines on how to coordinate with other hospitals to keep a possible outbreak under control.
