The government has announced it has so far raised 83.4 million baht in donation money for typhoon victims in the Philippines.

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Wednesday presided over an event to acknowledge the amount collected by the various donation channels set up by public and private agencies. The total amount of 83,401,950 baht was announced through a special television program encouraging Thais to provide support to the storm-battered Philippines, which aired on NBT Channel on Wednesday evening.

Members of the public wishing to make donations to assist the people of the Philippines, who are facing the aftermath of Haiyan, one of the strongest storms ever to make landfall, can do so by transferring money into account number 067-0-09551-6 of the Krung Thai Bank.
