Wat Chaimongkol designated royal temple

South Pattaya’s Wat Chaimongkol has been designated a royal temple, elevating what was once a private monastery in the area’s most important center of worship.
With Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra hosting a cabinet meeting in town, Pattaya residents took the opportunity to express what they think the government should be concentrating on.
Pattaya-area Buddhists flocked to area temples for Visakha Bucha Day which, this year, carried special significance as it marked the 2,600th anniversary of Lord Buddha’s enlightenment.
Teachers, nannies and caretakers were given lessons on how to get young children interested in learning at a “creative learning” seminar attended by care givers from two area temples.
