Workers needed for five key industries

As Thailand is now heading towards an elderly society, the Industry Ministry’s Office of Industrial Economics has projected that the country would need about 3.3 million workers for five key industries from 2015 – 2017.
BANGKOK, 20 November 2013 The Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI) predicts that applications for investment privileges in 2014 will be worth 900 billion baht, which is 100 billion baht lower than its target, as the global economy has yet to fully recover. 
Thailand’s Eastern Seaboard marked a new high in business investment during 2012, attracting 357.2 billion baht in capital with further growth expected in coming years.
BANGKOK, Jan 10 - Applications for investment privileges in Thailand reached a historic level of Bt1.46 trillion -- nearly US$48 billion -- in 2012, according to the Industry Ministry.
