Incheon – Tamarine ‘Tammy’ Tanasugarn has led Thailand’s tennis team into the second round of Incheon Games, defeating Uzbekistan’s squad. Meanwhile, Taekwondo coach Choi Young-seok is to restrict players use of social media and the internet before their matches, so as to better focus on their training.

Thailand’s tennis ace Tamarine last weekend defeated Akgul Amanmuradova 2-0 sets, while Luksika Kumkhum was beaten 0-2 sets by Nigina Abduraimova. Thailand has already booked its place in the second round after Tammy and Noppawan Lertsheevagarn humbled Akgul and Nigina in the doubles event.

Meanwhile, Thailand’s Taekwondo team left Thailand for South Korea last Saturday, well-prepared for the matches scheduled from September 30th to October 3rd.

Taekwondo head coach Choi Young-seok told the media that he had specifically instructed the players to stay off-line and focus their energy on practicing before their matches, adding that he might have to ask them to temporarily give up their mobile phones.

The much-respected Korean coach, however, said that the team members will be allowed to talk to their families but for no more than an hour a day.
