Another sunny, action packed Sunday at the splendid Thai Polo Grounds saw the Soi Dogs defeat the Sunrise Taco team 2 games to 1 to win the tripleheader.  The Soi Dogs were led by their young guns, Tyler and Jerry who have happily returned to their Pattaya homeland.

The hard hitting of Dave D., Rick S. Greg and Andy, plus the speedy base path running of Jerry, Phil and Tyler were too much for the Soi Dogs.  Sunrise Taco won the first game by a score of 17-12, and the third and rubber match by a score of 9-5 to win the series.

Tyler hits one to right field as 2nd baseman Gep, and 1st baseman Dirk get ready to field the ball for their Sunrise Taco team. Tyler hits one to right field as 2nd baseman Gep, and 1st baseman Dirk get ready to field the ball for their Sunrise Taco team.

Soi Dogs bats woke up in game 2 when Stockton moved to lead-off hitter, hit a triple that was followed by doubles from Rodney, Ben, and Harris and the only over the fence homerun of the day by yours truly.  Sorry for tooting my own horn, but they did move the fences a further 10 meters back from last week, and it was a beauty of a smash to right field (Vince even cut his leg running into the fence trying to catch it).

Sunrise Tacos easily won game 2 by a score of 13-2.  But in the end, the day belonged to youth and experience.  Rick S. was a crafty pitcher and a huge welcome back to Phil, who still knows how to hit the ball with precision.

We at Pattaya Sports Club Softball would like to thank our new sponsors:  The Golf Club in LK Metro; The A Team, located off of Soi Excite and beside the Bowling Green, in joining with Sunrise Tacos in Jomtien, beside Shenanigans, in helping us to grow our league into a 4 team affair.  Now we need just one more title sponsor for our 4-team league to be formed.  Furthermore, a huge thanks goes out to the Pattaya Sports Club who are not only sponsor us, but also put us on their website and assist us in getting new recruits to the posh and beautiful Thai Polo Grounds, where we play every Sunday noon to 4pm.

We are still in need of a few good players, so if interested email John Stockton (scrabbleking @gmail.com), myself (igolfwells @gmail.com) or check us out on the pattayasportsclub website.
