Wednesday, Jan. 30, Phoenix - Stableford

After Monday’s game at Emerald was cancelled due to the rain, we moved onto Phoenix today and the weather looked OK’ish as we arrived.  There were a few spots of rain on the back nine but for the most part it was a fine day for golf.

There were ten groups out in three flights with the cut at 9-15, 16-21 and 22+, and a ladies division as well.

Friday, Feb. 1, Eastern Star - Stableford

Preparing for the following week’s pairs multiplier extravaganza, Wilf Latham’s 37 points topped Division 1 today, with Mikael Andersson second on 34 and Chris Voller beat Bill Bertram on a 17/16 back nine count back for third after they both came in with 29 points.

Miss Chevrolet’s other half, Andy Baber, won the second division with 34 points ahead of Joe Kubon in second on 32 and in third place was Walter Weber with 31.

In her last game with us before returning to Switzerland, Verana Suhr claimed the ladies division with 27 points.  Bon voyage to both Verana and Volker Suhr!

Near pins went to Wilf Latham, Jan Sordal, Horst Starchl (2), Roar Berger, Rudi Schaefer, and Verana Suhr.

There are now three rollovers in the ‘2’s in Division 1 to the extravaganza day on Friday, Feb. 8 and two in division 2, so all to play for next week!
