On 26 July 2014, Suraphol Komuthanond, former General Manager at Khao Kheow Country Club unexpectedly passed away at the early age of 53.  He was a great supporter for the Pattaya Sports Club and for the past several years had allowed the PSC to hold its annual PSC two day Club Championship at the KKCC during January (which is the peak of the high season) at a very attractive price.  Every year at Christmas time, he would come to the PSC office and give the staff a Christmas gift.

It was Suraphol’s dream that his daughter Songdaow Komuthanond attend Mae Fah Luang University in Chiang Rai which was started by the His Majesty the King’s mother many years ago.  Songdaow is a 17 year old Grade 12 student and is an outstanding scholar, carrying a 3.8 GPA.

A special golf tribute Fund Raising Day to Suraphol was held at Khao Kheow on August 18.  The green fees were donated to Suraphol’s family to send his daughter to college in January next year.  Over 200,000 baht was raised from this event.  The Pattaya Sports Club donated 25,000 Baht for her college fund.

Suraphol will be greatly missed and we wish his family well and hope his daughter Songdaow will be able to fulfill her father’s dream.  Anyone wishing to contribute to this fund, please contact Joe Mooneyham at 086 138 6072 or Mike, President of EGA at 081 441 1330.
