Thursday, June 28, was our third trip for the month due to 2 cancellations caused by high winds and discharge of northern Thai flood waters at Bangkok.

Five of us set out from Khram Marine under an overcast sky and with slightly choppy seas with the captain warning us of heavy going after rounding the last island and heading into unprotected waters.  He was right, as we encountered big swells in the morning which abated somewhat in the afternoon and made fishing conditions somewhat difficult.

Nevertheless, fishing was considerably better than our last trip on 7 June and our bag catches of pla-dang, snapper and grouper averaged around four to six kilos each.  No big greys were caught this trip so I have included a photo from a trip last month.

As winds are expected to abate in the near future we hope fishing conditions improve in the second half of the year.

Several of the regular members are exploring a trip in July seeking larger fish departing from a small seaport (name unknown) halfway between Sattahip and Ban Chang.  Will let you know the results.

Trips for July vary from the usual schedule due to the mid-year PSC Party and are as follows: Saturday 14 July, Thursday 19 July, and Saturday 28 July.  Contact Dene Mundy on 081 862 6279 for  bookings.
