Monday, May 11, Plutaluang N & W – Stableford

We headed south to Plutalung in our brand new 10-seater bus and arrived at the course to find it fairly quiet so we nominated North & West nines as we had heard they were in pretty good shape.  We were not to be disappointed either as the course was fantastic, with the greens in the best condition I have ever seen them and everyone made the same comments.

Our first group teed off 10 minutes before our scheduled 10.30am tee time and we completed our round in three hours & forty five minutes after a very enjoyable day with the weather being not too hot.

Back from Myanmar for a week it was Steve Newton who took the honours with a fine 42 points and with 2 golfers on 38 points it was time for a count back, which resulted in your writer, Peter Blackburn (21 point back nine), finishing second from Christian Boysen (18 point back nine) in third spot.

1st Steve Newton (28) 42pts

2nd Peter Blackburn (15) 38pts

3rd Christian Boysen (15) 38pts

Wednesday, May 13, Burapha C & A – Stableford

It was time for our monthly low season visit to the classy Burapha Golf Course and with three groups signed up we were designated to play the unusual combination of C & A nines.  Yours truly was not available to play so Christian was appointed captain for the day.  Reportedly the course was in very good shape and the weather was fairly hot and all groups finished their rounds in under four hours.

Big Steve Truelove had a great time and won the day with a fine 40 points while Christian Boysen finished second on 38 and Jorn Finnerup took third with 37.

1st Steve Truelove (10) 40pts

2nd Christian Boysen (15) 38pts

3rd Jorn Finnerup (24) 37pts

Long Putt: A9 – Steve Truelove

Friday, May 15, Phoenix (Mountain & Ocean) – Stableford

It was our ‘Fridays at Phoenix” game again and not a huge field but Marcus Earp was back from the States and your writer was a non-participant, recovering from laser eye surgery the day before.  It was reported that the course and the weather was good, and running a bit late our first group teed off a little bit later than our scheduled 11.00am tee time.  There was no rain for a change and most groups got around in good time.

It was that man again Christian Boysen who stole the show by winning with 39 points while Thientong Charoenrung came second with 34 and Marie Rowles placed third on 30.

1st Christian Boysen (15) 39pts

2nd Thientong Charoenrung (18) 34pts

Long Putt: Ocean 9 – Jim Vimoljaroen.
