We played from the Blues with allowances on holes 12 & 14, so as not to make it a ball washing exercise for the shorter hitters on those longer carries. This meant the course played at under 6,300 yards, so really the colour of the tees is insignificant when compared to other courses White tee lengths.
With sufficient players for 2 flights, it was Joel Flor (21) with the best score of the day leading the “B” flight with 39 points. Second spot went to Trevor Taylor (36) with 33, while Jim Federspiel (19) filled the bronze medal spot with 32.
In the lower handicap group it was Jeff Wylie (6) out in front with 36 points, followed in by Kevin Hamilton (17) 35, while another point behind was the in -form Phill Waite (11).
Mike Jackson & Jeff split the Near Pins between them, unfortunately no birdie ‘2’s though.
Thursday, Jan. 23, Century Chonburi – Stableford
Not quite so many players today at Century Chonburi, where the fairways & greens are in reasonable condition, although it is getting a bit dry off the edges.
Even though we had a smaller field, there were some good scores, especially from Jeff Warner (13) leading the way with 38 points, while Paddy Devereaux (23) & Clive Hoseason (24) needed a count back to decide the minor placings, which Paddy won 23/17, after both signed for 36 points.
Near Pins today were much more evenly spread with Owen, Clive & the 2 Jeff’s each getting 1.
