Richard Holmes had the best day out today, scoring 42 points and taking the winner’s cheque ahead of Kiwi Bill a little way back on 36. Then there was a 3-way count back on 35 points with Martin Kingswood getting third, Bob Finley fourth and Barry Copestake fifth.
Bill Marsden with John Ryves and Richard Holmes.
Everyone had a good day out including Lloyd, just back from his latest jaunt of 5 months without holding a club and scoring 33 points. A black sky with the rain not far away came in as the groups finished their rounds but nobody got wet.
It was Capt. Bob’s birthday today so there were a few beers and a bell ring back at the bar.
Friday, Feb. 1, The Emerald - Stabelford
Emerald was the venue for Friday’s game this week and with five groups playing we got away on time. There was no rain and the course was in magnificent condition as usual.
Today we welcomed Gary Ritchie, Ivor Smith (a friend of John Locke), and Mark Prytz.
There were no ‘2’s again so all the prizes went to field down to 5th place. The scores weren’t terribly good apart from the two top places. Gary Ritchie was the winner today with 38 points followed by Brian Maddox on 35 and there were 3 players tied on 33, Lloyd Shuttleworth, Mark Prytz and Mitch Black.
Thank you to Kiwi Bill, Lloyd and Colonel Bob for looking after the lads as the Capt was down with the flu.
