Pattaya Amateur Golf Series – February
The second event of the PAGS series took place on the 27th February at Pattana Golf Club & Resort and was another fantastic day. 97 players took part on this challenging golf course and it seemed like the course had won with very few players breaking their handicap. However, as the day went on some better scores started to roll in as the wind dropped but still the best of the day was just 39 points.
We played the more popular A-B courses and Shaun Merirman managed to get an eagle 4 on the par 6 to claim nearest in 4. Other notable spot winners were Paddy Somers near pin on the 8th where the ball was heading for the water but skimmed off to end up the closest and Ae Sutton who drained a monster putt on 17 to claim the longest putt.

We had a lot of new low handicapped golfer join us this month, which I hope is due to the Gross Order of Merit that we have introduced but none of them could get close to a very solid round by regular participant, Jack Grindvold, who shot 75 Gross.
In flight C we had a popular first time winner in Nick Creasey who has played in the PAGS every month since the start of the series. This was clearly Nick’s day as he made lots of putts for a great score of 36 points to take the C Flight. Steve Donahue just crept into flight B with his 11 handicap to claim this flight and flight A went to a newcomer, Andre Olsen
