Supaap said the event was organized to thank the disabled athetes, coaches and sponsors for their efforts at the 30th National Sports Games in Khon Kaen, 14th Paralympic Games in London and World Wheelchair Marathon in Japan.

At the Khon Kaen games last month, Chonburi athletes won 27 gold medals, 34 silver medals, and 11 bronze medals. In London, Chonburi athletes nabbed a gold and silver and, in Japan, local disabled athletes won second place.
Itthiphol awarded Watcharapol Wongsa, part of a four-man team that won gold in mixed boccia, with 30,000 baht. Sukachai Koizup and Sukhum Namlum, half the four-man wheelchair relay team, each received 20,000 baht for winning silver.
Students from the Redemptorist School put on a special Gangnam Style dance show for the athletes and officials.
