Phoenix Tuesday/Friday Golf Group

A great day on the slopes of Phoenix today, Friday, March 16.  It’s strange, now that the high season is coming to a close the course is getting better.

Big John Bartley bossed us around again today with a sparkling 40 points (he can be sure to be cut when the PSC get his scores).

Tuesday winners with the staff at The Relax Bar. Tuesday winners with the staff at The Relax Bar.

In second place was Bill Hewitt with 38 points (usually enough to win), and in third place was Goort Gelten with 36 points.

Near Pins went to Richard Baldwin (2) and John Bartley.  The remaining near pin was not won so it went into the lucky draw.  Winners were Granville Swanton, Mike Gerrard and Mukesh Thakker.

Onto Sunday, March 18, and it was yours truly who took the spoils today with 38 points, with John Bartley continuing his fine form even though he had been cut a couple of shots, scoring 37 points, and Bill Hewitt third with 32 points.

Tuesday, March 20 was our main day his week (as is every week) and this weeks sponsor Nemo Music Lounge donated a lovely sports shirt to our best player of the day.  After a long time increasing his handicap it was inevitable that Patrick Browne would shoot the lights out eventually.  He scored a fine 39 points to win the day.  Second was Harvey Trewarn scoring 36 points and enjoying his vacation from Australia, with David Czernie and Bob Neylon sharing third place with 34 points each.

Near pins today went to Hugh Byrne, Juan Martin, Bill Hewitt & Herbie Schwieterman.

Lucky draw prizes always donated by the Relax Bar went to Stuart Gordon, Sergio Volpi & Mike Gerrard.

As of the 1st April 2012, Phoenix Golf Club will be charging the following green fee rates to guests and visitors:  Monday, Wednesday & Friday the green fees will be 900 Baht per 18 holes.  Tuesday & Thursday the green fees will be 800 Baht per 18 holes.

We continue to play every Tuesday, Friday & Sunday.  So anyone who would like to try our little group is welcome.  However please note that we do not allow more than 28 handicap maximum and we would expect anyone who would like to join us to be competent to play within that level.

We also run fortnightly sea fishing trips so for more information about golf and fishing, please call me (Mike) on 087 091 7565.
