With carts being allowed on fairways we decided not to implement the winter rule of ‘lift clean and place’ for our outing on Tuesday, Nov. 27.  Although the course is still a little wet in places, this turned out to be justified.  There were a few places where the ball picked up a bit of mud, but generally the course is in great shape considering the amount of rainfall we are experiencing at present.

Luckily the rain kept away again, albeit sometimes threatening.  Considering the conditions the scoring today was very good with all first four places breaking handicap.  We were playing stroke play for the Trattoria Italiana Restaurant voucher today on the Ocean and Mountain course.

Richard Baldwin has been playing some steady golf of late, always being around his handicap of 12.  However today he blitzed the course with a superb net 66 (gross 78).  Some way back with net 69 were Paul Taylor and Frank Hughes, with the scribe claiming fourth spot with a net 71 (other days this would be good enough to win).

Near pin prizes were awarded to Richard Baldwin, Joris Goetschalkx & Mike Gerrard.  The rest of the field’s names, who did not win anything, were put into the hat for a lucky draw chance.  The lucky draw prizes are donated by our hosts, The Relax Bar at Ban Amphur, and the recipients were John Bartley, Bill Hewitt, Sergo Volpi & Adriano Reale.
