Although the weather was hot, the round progressed smoothly (without a monkey sighted all day) and the first group never caught up with any group in front. Lee Butler and Geoff Parker, playing in the same group, had a nip and tuck battle all day, with Lee eventually taking the honours, when Geoff missed a 5 feet putt for par on the 18th green – no pressure!
Returning champion Barry Murnin.

Wednesday, May 16, Bangprakong – Stableford
We arrived at Bangprakong to find that the course wasn’t in its normally excellent condition, with uncollected grass cuttings lying all over the semi-rough areas, and several greens very bumpy, in the process of recovering from recent coring. However, the course was quiet and the weather good, so the round progressed smoothly, being completed comfortably in 4 hours.
Geoff Parker continued his recent run of good form to record the best score of the day with 38 points. Mike Corner, playing his first game back, since returning from U.K., took second place on a count back ahead of Geoff Cox.
1st Geoff Parker (15) 38pts
2nd Mike Corner (19) 36pts
3rd Geoff Cox (13) 36pts
Near Pins: Colin Greig, Ken Davidson and Mike Corner (2).

Ken Young made a rare visit to the podium in second place, and Colin Greig was third, collecting three near pin prizes in the process.
The shot of the day came from Les Burns, who almost scored a hole in one on the par three 7th hole, and collected the fourth near pin prize.
