The Pattaya Golf Society visited the Emerald course in Ban Chang on Monday, 3rd October to play a stableford competition on the course, which, although well prepared, was suffering from slow greens.  The day was very humid and with courses still having little run a long day was in prospect.

Tony Thorne spoilt what was destined to be an all-Asian 1-2-3 with a fine return of 35 points for a share of third place with Haru Kato but the “form” men, Masanori Takano and Wichai Tananusorn, held out to share the victory with 37 points each.

Khun Wichai also secured the day’s only birdie ‘2’ for a substantial bonus.

The Booby Bevy was reserved for the golfer who took a taxi to Eastern Star instead, thereby causing a last minute dash across Ban Chang to make the tee-off time and the usual fine presentation reception back at Rabbi’s Elephant Bar in Soi Buakhao drew another good day’s golf to a conclusion for the PGS.
