Monday, August 6, Green Valley (White tees) – Stableford

1st Henry O’Brien (21) 39pts

2nd Terry Wagner (21) 38pts

3rd Tony Duthie (22) 38pts

4th Jerry Garcia (20) 35pts

It was another fantastic week of Olympic sports this week, and some monumental performances from both the U.S. and G.B. teams from beautiful London.  We now look forward to Rio in 4 years time and golf added to the Olympics for the first time ever.

It was the revenge of the high handicappers this Monday as not only were all the podium positions dotted with double digits, but they were in the 20’s!  These guys played well today so let’s not take anything away from this great victory.  They also got their money’s worth with all those strokes taken!

Mark Wood, Peter LeNoury, Max Scott and Phil Smedley. Mark Wood, Peter LeNoury, Max Scott and Phil Smedley.

Henry ‘O’ took top spot with a great 39.  How he manages to play so well has us all baffled.  Being a Scotsman, it must be in his blood, because he usually steps up to the first tee after a night of being ‘overserved’ at the bar.  Well played Henry, Glasgow would be proud of ya.

Wednesday, August 8, Bangpra (White Tees) – Stableford

1st Max Scott (5) 43pts

2nd Mark Wood (9) 37pts

3rd Peter LeNoury (9) 35pts

4th Phil Smedley (12) 34pts

Bangpra is one of our favourite courses and there are no moans and groans when we put it up on the monthly schedule.  The course has been in great shape lately and the monkeys have been behaving as well.  Have you seen that 7-foot long monitor lizard that lives in the pond on the 17th par 3, it’s amazing!  All comments on the course after the round were very complimentary; it is a lovely day out.

To shoot a 43 off a 5 handicap is not easy.  Max Scott had a great day of golf today and his 43 put him top of the leaderboard.  Regulars Mark Wood and Peter LeNoury had decent rounds of 37 and 35 for 2nd and 3rd spots with our Ozzie mate Phil Smedley taking 4th on 34 points.

Friday, August 10, Phoenix (White Tees) – Stableford

1st Serge Straeten (19) 37pts

2nd Nigel Bennett (11) 36pts

3rd Max Scott (5) 35pts

4th Kevin Woods (18)34pts

Another one of the best courses in Pattaya that we play on a regular basis is Phoenix.  The course was in real good shape so no complaints from the gang that played the Lakes and Mountain 9’s today.  The Phoenix track is a Dennis Griffith design, who also designed Soi Dao Highlands which is another fave of ours.

Serge Straeten, our Parisian buddy who likes to hit the high seas when not playing golf, sailed away with victory today with 37 Stableford points.  Nigel Bennett was just behind on 36 and Wednesday’s winner from Bangpra, Mr. Mad Max Scott, took third spot today.  Kevin Woods (absolutely no relation to Tiger, trust me) ended up a shot behind Max with 34 points.

Note:  The Golf Club is located on Soi LK Metro.  We play on Monday, Wednesday and Friday so come join us for a seriously fun day out.  Just call 085 434 3377 or see our website www.golfclub pattaya.com and for more information mail us: pattaya [email protected] and see updates at www.facebook .com/golfclubpattaya.
