Cafe Kronborg played at Treasure Hill on Monday, where the greens were slick and downhill putts were unstoppable.  Unusually we had a few people drop out due to injuries and illness, which meant half the field was 3-balls resulting in seemingly slow rounds for them.  Treasure Hill is well known for fast greens, but today they seemed to be even faster.  The trick was to work out if the putt was up or downhill, as the speed varied dramatically depending on the answer.  With the optical illusions on some greens and the lay of the land falling away from the mountains, it was not always easy to see the fall or rise.

Despite the difficult greens a couple of able golfers managed to score well but for us mere mortals the results were a little more mediocre.

The A Flight winner was Takeshi Hakozaki with a superbly consistent and well balanced 40 points, with a 20/20 split front and back, scoring on every hole.  Second and third place was decided on count back with three players having 34 points.  Ronnie Ratte came second with 17 points on the back nine, Kjeld Ravn came third with 16 and the unfortunate Carole Kubicki lost out with only 15.

B Flight was won by Jan Lovgreen, he being the only other person to beat handicap with a fine 39 points.  As with A Flight, second and third were decided on count back with two players scoring 33 points and Svend Gaarde took the silver with 20 points on the inward half, ahead of Ulla Ravn who had 16.

Cafe Kronborg played at Bangpakong Thursday, the course being in pristine condition with greens running at their normal fast pace.  Although early on the scores were not as high as expected this soon changed when the latter groups came in, with players needing 36 points to even have a sniff at a placing.

The A Flight winner was Takeshi Hakozaki with another great score of 39 points (I guess a handicap reduction must be just around the corner for him).  Second and third place was decided on count back with two players having 37 points.  Peter Bygballe came second with 19 points on the back nine and Michele Sancillo took third with 18.  Fourth place was again decided on count back, with two players having 36 points and Kenneth Madsen won it with 12 points on the last 6, beating Henning Olsen who had 10 points.

B Flight was straightforward this time with no count backs.  Jan Lovgreen had another great score, the best of the day, with a stunning 44 points including an incredible 25 points on the back nine.  Graham Buckingham was sitting pretty in the clubhouse with an excellent 42 points but had to settle for second place after Jan put his card in.  Kurt Sandgaard was third with 37 points and Torben Sorensen was fourth with 36.
