A Flight

1st Colin Goon (7) 36pts

2nd Jim Bell (16) 34pts

3rd Sel Wegner (13) 33pts

4th Brian Scott (12) 32 pts

B Flight

1st Tim Knight (29) 37pts

2nd Nigel Harrison (23) 37pts

3rd Jez Lees (24) 31pts

4th Eddy Beilby (21) 25pts

With a few of our regulars away playing in the Mulberry Ryder Cup, today’s turnout was slightly down but we did have enough players for two flights with four spots in each, the cut being 0-17 and 18 +.

B Flight was defiantly a two-man affair as Aussie star Tim Knight and Nigel Harrison had best on the day 37 point scores.  Tim took the top spot with a back-nine count back while Jez ‘the principle’ Lees picked up the bronze prize with 31 points, leaving Eddy ‘the Eagle Beilby in a daze as he closed the flight with a mere 29.

The senior flight was led by Colin Goon with a solid even par round and he was two strokes clear of no stranger to the pay window Jimmy ‘AK-47’ Bell.  Sel Wegner was the bronze recipient a stroke back as Brian Scot won a count-back on 32 points to close the flight.

George French was the sole heir to the 2’s pot.

Tuesday, Jan. 23, Green Valley – Stableford

1st Tim Knight (29) 42pts

2nd Eddy Beilby (25) 37pts

3rd Pat Regan (18) 36pts

Again we had a modest turn out for our mid-week trip to Green Valley so only one flight was required.

There were several players who did really well on the front nine only to fall away on the home stretch.  Whether it was the hot humid conditions or too much booze the night before I don’t know, however Aussie star Tim Knight made it two wins on the trot and this time there was no need for a count-back as Tim returned a sparkling 42 points.

Tim was five strokes clear of Eddy ‘the Eagle’ Beilby as he himself made it two podium visits on the trot.  Ireland’s Pat Reagan stood on the third step of the podium to tidy up the flight.
