Hey where’s the title boy today? Well before the field could get too smug about keeping Mr. Walsh off the podium, it was pointed out that his irons were too hot, and in fact he had returned to Ireland to put a deposit on a property in Grafton Street with his society winnings. Rumor all so has it that Waddingtons, the makers of the famous board game Monopoly, are thinking of changing Mayfair to Grafton Street.
Andrew Byrne was a winner at Treasure Hill on Friday.
This has not gone unnoticed by the infamous Co. Offaly Gang who have suddenly turned up at Lewiinskis. Anyway back to the golf and there was no man of the match today but it was not for the lack of trying. It was in fact Yui Bietry, reverted to her more standard Red Tees and handicap, who lead the boys home with a splendid 40 points, proving that she can win off either the Reds or Whites. Yui’s 40 points was one ahead of Andrew Byrne from you know where (didn’t take long hey). Jez waded in with 34 points and again had three no-scoring holes (when will it end?)
I am afraid all that awaited Craig Blythe in a three-way count back was the Bronze. But it did not match the disappointment of Thierry Petremont and Aaron Taylor as they slipped completely off the payroll.
Good scores abounded in the junior flight as Norman ‘I never did’ Cheetham took the top podium spot with a solid 39 point haul. Eddy the Eagle and Peter ‘Don O Corleone’ Henshaw, both boys never shy to step up on to the podium, were stringed out in single digit increments.
Back at Lewiinski’s and after the presentation it was Snowball time and the winner Ollie Whalsh was in the house; pity he was upstairs filling his face with something! Don’t forget you have to be in the bar to win. Next draw will be over 5,000 baht.
Tuesday, October 25, Greenwood C&A – Stableford

Tuesday’s fixture saw the society venture to the well maintained Wolveridge and Thomson designed Greenwood to play the C & A layouts.
Tore Eliassen was the only player to better his handicap, this by just one stroke, and in doing so won the senior flight and more importantly the man of the match. Tore was followed in by a triumvirate of golfers log jammed on 34 points; Peter ‘The Right Honorable’ Hynard got the better of Colin ‘the donkey’ much to the joy of the field, who did likewise to Greg ‘I dare not’ Bates and pushed him out in the cold.
It was just about the same standard of play in the junior flight as John Stolarczyk posted the better inward nine than Sean Soden as both were looked on 35 points. Big hitting Adam Oyston rounded out the flight a shot adrift.
The big winner on the day was not on the podium as Craig Blyth collected a very healthy ‘2’s pot.
Wednesday, October 26, Bangpra – Stableford

Francis Goyons Brought the gang home through the marauding Monkeys, with a top score on the day of 35 points. The balance of the field found the going tough when “you have to count them all” but familiar names accompanied Francis in the senior flight. In fact Garry Lunn actually defeated two of the Offaly Gang in a count back. He relegated Andrew Byrne to the bronze spot and left Kevin Mcentee Satang less at sea level.
The junior flight found the wet conditions, the slick greens and the mischievous monkeys very hard to handle as Tore Eliassen gratefully accepted the top podium spot with 34 points. Even more grateful was Eddy ‘the Eagle’ as his 32 points took the silver. Vic’ the inflictor’ Hester did not have to live up to his moniker as he was dumfounded to find that 29 points was good for the bronze.
Francis Goyons added to his A Flight victory winnings, along with Peter Larson as they split a very healthy 2’s pot.
Friday, October 28, Treasure Hill – Stableford

It has been apparent of late that Co. Offaly gang member Andrew Byrne was coming into form and that trend continued this day as his 40 points blew away the senior flight. Andrew’s tally was a massive six strokes ahead off the in-form Aaron Taylor. Peter the ‘Right Honorable’ Hynard was a further shot back as he closed out the flight.
The junior flight was a bit more dramatic as Christy ‘Good’ Knight matched the senior flight winner to take the junior flight top spot, and a share of the bragging rights. Don ‘the ladies man’ Lehmer was sandwiched between two Irishmen as he took the silver one shot adrift. Ed Delaney, owing to his fine behavior, prevailed on count back over fellow Irishman Sean Soden. Sean was not sure what was going on but seemed happy enough.
Andrew Byrne, Kevin Mcentee, Liam McGuinness, Jan Eriksen, Mike Holmes and Don Lehmer shared the 2’s pot.
