THA sports competition kicks off Sept. 9

Employees from Pattaya-area hotels will complete in football and two other sports in the Sept. 9-Oct. 31 Thai Hotels Association Eastern Region Sports Competition.

THA Eastern President Sanphet Suphabuansathien chaired an Aug. 21 planning meeting for the games to be held in cooperation with the Pattaya Hotels Front Desk Managers Club, Pattaya Professional Food and Beverage Club, Chef Association of Pattaya and Eastern Seaboard, and HR Networking Club. 

More than 20 hotels will participate in the competition, including the Royal Cliff Hotels Group, Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort, Horseshoe Point, Hilton Pattaya, Hard Rock Hotel, Dusit Thani Hotel and more.

The games are being funded by Chonburi Province and Nongprue Sub-district.

Competitions will include a 20-team football tournament, the winner of which will represent the eastern region at the THA national games.  The matches will be staged at Pattaya School No. 7.

Fifteen men’s and women’s teams will compete in a volleyball match at the Asia Hotel Pattaya.

Twenty teams also will compete in snooker at the Asia Hotel and petanque will be hosted at School No. 7.
