Thailand’s Siriporn Kaewduang-ngam won a gold medal at the recent RS:One World Championships held in Vietnam.

Thailand’s Siriporn Kaewduang-ngam took gold at the RS:One World Championships in Hoi- An Vietnam last month, with two other Thai athletes also medaling.

Itthiphol Kunplome, president of the Thailand Windsurfing Association, announced Siriporn’s world championship win and the second and third-place finishes in the men’s division for Nawin Singsat and Natapong Phonoparat at a June 26 news conference in Pattaya.

The June 9-14 competition allowed the international sailors to compete through innovative types of races, such as the Pulsar (Compact slalom, style America’s Cup) and the marathon (long distance).  The courses were designed in such a way that spectators could follow the races from the beach.

The club members announced that they are preparing for three programs: the KFCM CC Sarwak Open Regatta July 13-18 in Malaysia, Youth Olympics in France July 15-20 and the 29th Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur Aug. 1-29.

The three championship winners will represent Thailand at the SEA Games while Patchara Mungmeepol, Tiwa Wongyanghang and Panipa Mungmeepol will carry the load at the KFCM meet.

The under-18 members of the association will go to France.
