PSC Golf from The Bunker Bar
Monday, April 13, Pattavia – Stableford
Many of the guys invariably break out in song “Pineapple Fields Forever” when negotiating the pot-hole strewn road leading into Pattavia. Fortunately, no one goes in a VW bug or they may never make their T-time.
We arrived to find the course virtually empty and were off without any snags. The greens had recently been cored but not recently cut, so slower than slow was the order of the day. Even the “Putter Man” managed to 3-putt a green or two.
P.J., after only a brief absence, returned to the podium to claim first place with 38 points while the rest of the field turned in a fairly good performance, averaging 32 stableford points.
1st PJ Redmond (24) 38pts
2nd Chris Cox (15) 36pts
3rd Tore Eliassen (20) 35pts
Near Pins: Dave Ashman (2), Colin Greig, Keith Hemmings
Wednesday, April 15, Greenwood A & C – Medal
New face Brian Parish would have certainly shown the regulars a thing or two if the wheels hadn’t come off on 9 and 18. Even with these two missteps he posted a net 74, only one behind the winner Gerry Cooney at 73.
Overall the Bunker Boys didn’t fare so well at this lovely track, posting an average net score of 83. The course was in good shape and the weather was agreeable, but the guys just weren’t on their games. Oh well, even monkeys fall from trees!
1st Gerry Cooney (16) net 73
2nd Brian Parish (14) net 74
3rd Mashi Kaneta (15) net 75
Near Pins: Gerry Cooney (2), Brian Parish
Note: The Bunker Boys are a PSC affiliated golf society, who now play out of The Ranch bar on Pattaya 3rd Road (in front of the fire station, and almost opposite the Buffalo Bar). We play on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, so if you enjoy a fun day out, and a friendly but competitive golf competition why not come and join us.
We meet at The Ranch at 9 a.m. for breakfast and transportation, and new players are always welcome. Contact “Buff” on 086 046 5091 or 080 605 5663 for all enquiries or check website: www.bunkersociety.com.
