A Flight

After the excitement of the Ryder Cup, we were back to the weekly slog and it must be over a week since our last rain as the shoes are drying out

Wednesday saw 16 players take on Mountain Shadow’s A/B layout off the white tees.  The course was in good shape and enjoying the conditions was Mike Philips who took the A Flight with 34 points ahead of Ted Gardner who finished just the one back in second.

Brian Hall was the top scorer of the day with 35 points to wrap up the B Flight, a full six up on second placed Les Hall who edged Bernard Channing on count-back

Brian Orr and Kevin Gee recorded the day’s only ‘2’s.

Friday, Nov. 5, Green Valley – Stableford

A Flight

1st Mike Phillips (11) 40pts

2nd Damien Trant (9) 38pts

3rd Barry Russel (6) 36pts

4th George Faber (12) 32pts

B Flight

1st Bernard Channing (23) 36pts

2nd Keith Johnson (23) 34pts

3rd Allain Bellec (17) 34pts

4th James Savage (20) 33pts

Twenty three players visited Green Valley on Friday where they found the course to still be in the stages of drying out following all the recent rain.

Mike Phillips made it a double win for him in the A Flight, topping the podium with 40 points.  Damien Trant took second just two back while Barry Russel and George Faber took third and fourth respectively.

In the B Flight Bernard Channing made up for his disappointment of missing out on Wednesday with a flight winning 36 points.  He was followed in by Keith Johnson and Allain Bellec, both on 34 points, with Keith edging the count-back for second.  James Savage took fourth one point back on 33.

Damein Trant and Robin Lennon recorded the day’s only ‘2’s and the same two players also grabbed a near pin each, as did Keith Johnston and Vincent Symth.

Note: The Caddy Shack is situated in Soi 8 Threppasit (follow the soi to the well appointed old English style hotel/restaurant/bar).  We play golf twice a week, Wednesday and Friday until the punters return then Monday will also be added.  We can also arrange golf outside these days and have a notice board with future venues and an entry list.  Email [email protected] for more information.
