The worst thing about playing Pattavia is still the road from the 331, but in all other respects the course is getting better and better with the greens now holding and about fifty percent slower, which means a ball above the pin may now stay on the green if it does not go in. The rest of the course also continues to improve as the scores on the day attested and the CSS went down a stroke.

Sammy Chan joined us for the first time and made a big impression, taking the win by a comfortable three shots as he closed off his round with a remarkable fourteen points from the last four holes to finish with a gross 35 for the back nine.

Adrian Cook had a very good round to finish in second place after he had closed out his day with 23 points from the back nine.
Shuichi Kodaka just stayed ahead of playing partner Fumiaki Matsuura in third after trading places throughout the round. Peter Skinner won a count back over Mark Williams with a better 17 to 14 to take fifth place.
Shuichi Kodaka and Fumiaki Matsuura shared the multi-pool rollover pot in the second division section of the 2s whilst Sammy Chan added to his day’s haul with the sole one in the first division.

A good turnout for the very popular Pattana Golf Club meant the formation of two divisions with the cut being strangely made by the organiser at 14 and below, which resulted in him not winning the second division and thus saving the cost of blowing the horn. But following an audit by the ethics committee, it was discovered that the cut had been set prior to the start of the day’s rounds.
Phil Cass won the second division with a solid one under handicap round, leaving Stephen Beard in second but well clear of the rest of the chasing pack led by Keith Smith in third and then followed by a count back for fourth, which Terry Hodgkiss won with a better 15 to 14 to leave Mike Hill in fifth.
The first division was a much closer affair which Mark Williams won by a single point ahead of a countback for second place between Sammy Chan and Garry Barling, Sammy edging it with a better 18 to 16 having had another solid inward half.
There needed to be another count back to determine fourth place which Mike Dabanovich won by 17 to 15, leaving Paul Young in fifth spot.
There were no 2s in the second division but David Dines slipped in a very nice one from three feet on the 2nd on the C course to sweep the first division pot clean.

The end of the year medal event also doubles as the finals for the Gold and Silver medals, with the contenders this year coming from the previous twelve monthly medals with the first and second places qualifying in both divisions, always cut at 15 and below for the first division.
Paul Young took the first division Gold Medal with Peter Skinner just pipping Mark Williams, by a two, for the Silverl.
The second division Gold Medal was won by Brendan Dunne, just seeing off the challenge of Shuichi Kodaka who had to settle for the Silver after holding off both Mike Hill and Hal Hart by two strokes.
In the December monthly medals Paul Young also won the first division, with Adrian Cook a very close second and Peter Skinner in third after he won a count back over Garry Barling with a better 35 to 38.
The second division winner was the very surprised Christmas pudding runner, Danny Greer, winning his first medal in over 15 years of glorious attempts and very happily ringing out the old year on the announcement.
Keith Smith took second place with Brendan Dunne in third and Shuichi Kodaka in fourth place.
Once again there were no 2s in the second division and none either in the first division.
