Panat wins thriller in Mercedes-Benz Junior Golf Championships

Panat Bodhidatta carded a 3 under par final round to clinch victory in the Boys 17 and under class Mercedes-Benz Junior Golf Championships last month, edging past Nopparat Panichpol with the aid of a count back.  Panat’s 69 on the second day saw him tie Nopparat on 141 but the former’s better final round saw him take the trophy.

Round 6 of the championships was held at the Kabinburi Sport Club in Prachinburi Province from 14–15 March.

In the girls 17 and under field, Sasikarn Somboonsub carded a two round total of 147 to win by eight clear from Jenjira Jirasangthong in second.

The Boys 12 and under class champion was “Fifa” Watcharakan Chankarn who finished on 2 under while the Girls 12 and under champion was Pattarat Rattanawan.

“Jean” Atthaya Thitikul made it two consecutive titles in the championship series in the Girls 14 and under class, and Natthapol Meebangyang won the Boys 14 and under class, while Boys 23 and under class championship honours went to Prasopchok  Chaiyanboon.

The Mercedes-Benz Junior Golf Championship Round 7 will be held from 23–24 April, 2015 at Watermill Golf & Gardens, Nakornnayok Province.
