St. Andrews – Stableford

1st Seil Peter (6) 41pts

2nd Paul Colfar (5) 35pts

3rd Reg Glass (16) 35pts

Monday saw the TRGG start the week with a visit to St Andrews.  Nothing tests the golf swing more than the challenges set by this excellent golf course. Reg Glass continued his fine form from the previous week with an excellent 35 points to take third place.

Paul Colfar shot a fine 6-over par round to score 35 points, but this did not come close to competing with the round of the day from Seil Peter who shot a 1 over par round.  Six birdies including three 2’s littered his card of glory and saw him walking away with the day’s top prize.

Tuesday, Dec. 19, Pleasant Valley – Stableford

1st Reg Glass (16) 39pts

2nd Steve Carleton (9) 39pts

3rd Mike Rushant (11) 37pts

Tuesday’s visit to Pleasant Valley saw a close battle at the top of the leader board.  Mike Rushant’s 37 points saw him take the third spot and a fine 6-over par from Steve Carleton was enough to take the second prize.

The winner of the day however, by virtue of count back came in the shape of Reg Glass.  His 39 points saw him taking the honors.

Wednesday, Dec. 20, Treasure Hill – Stableford

1st Alan Thomas (7) 33pts

2nd Mike Rushant (11) 31pts

3rd Barry Wood (13) 31pts

There is nothing like a round of golf around Treasure Hill to bring all golfers back to earth with a bang.  Wednesday’s visit proved to be no exception with 16 of the 20 golfers failing to reach 30 points.

Barry Wood’s 31 points proved to be good enough to take third spot and he was only just beaten into second by the straight hitting Mike Rushant whose stronger back 9 proved to be the telling factor.

The winner of the day, Alan Thomas, shot a fine round of 33 points which was no mean feat off his 7 handicap.  His day was complete at hole no 6 where a perfectly struck iron saw the ball entering the hole for the perfect ace.  The delighted management of the TRGG were more than happy to present the happy chappy with his 10,000 baht prize.

In division 2, Arnold Jones shot 35 points to take third place and ahead of him was James Cooper in second with a fine round of 37 points. This could have been enough for the top prize but Rob Herald managed a stronger back 9 and strolled away with the day’s top prize.

In division 1 Barry Wood’s 37 points was only good enough for the bronze, while the same total came from Kazu Mochidome and was enough to take the second place.  But the top round of the day came from Pedro Rapalo with a solid 38-pointer.
