Twenty players warranted two flights for our regular Sunday fixture so one would think that the high season is here.  There were several five-balls noticed playing today, sadly this made the game a tad longer.

In A Flight Paul Hack continued his strong play with another round of 38 points, good enough for the top spot and a share of the  match honours.  Josie Ryan and Mark Zimmerman tied on 34 points for the two remaining flight spots but Mark didn’t calculate the back-nine as well as Josie and it was ladies before gents.

B flight was led by the inform Jimmy ‘AK-47’ Bell with his co-man of the match 38 points.  Howard Bland followed Jim up the podium steps with a fine even par round while Mark Watkins was left to tidy up the flight with 33.

Tuesday, Nov. 14, Green Valley – Stableford

1st Tony Oakes (16) 38pts

2nd Howard Bland (25) 36pts

3rd Jim Bell (20) 35pts

4th Bill Peach (21) 34pts

5th Mick Beresford (15) 34pts

Near Pins: No 8 Mick Beresford, No 16 Bill Peach

A field of 16 players made the return trip to play Green Valley to play a stableford event.  We decided that one flight would be sufficient with five steps on the podium.

Tony ‘the glove’ Oakes proved once again to be the man to beat as he fired a best on the day 38 points and was two strokes clear of Howard Bland.  Pay window specialist Jimmy ‘AK-47’ Bell stood on the third step of the podium with 35 points which made it two flight spots in as many games for him.  Bill Peach and Mickey ‘nine holes’ Beresford locked it up with 34 points apiece, the ensuing count back dictated that the biggest bag of loot went to Bill.  Amazingly both players also had a near pin.

Friday, Nov. 17, Emerald G.C. – Stableford

1st Tony Oakes (16) 42pts

2nd Jim Bell (20) 37pts

3rd Mark Watkins (21) 37pts

4th Mick Beresford (15) 37pts

Near Pins: No 7 Tony Oakes, No 15 Tony Oakes.

In a span of two days Tony Oakes went from a hard working guy who deserved anything that comes his way to a sandbagging @#&%$ son of a $%#@&% etc.  Ah, God bless Pattaya!

Jim Bell made it three pay window visits this week five strokes in arrears but first he had to win a three-way count-back over Mark Watkins and Mickey ‘nine holes’ Beresford.  This left Mark in fourth spot and Mickey fifth.  Guess who won the two near pins.
