Mountain bikers descend on Chonburi for cross country challenge

Bike riders from all over the country attended the 1st mountain bike “Tanlom Cross Country” race staged at a specially laid out mountain bike course next to the Muang Sub-District Administrative offices in Chonburi on June 19.

Sonthaya Khunplome (Former Minister for Sports and Tourism, and President of the Chonburi Sports Association) chaired the opening of the race which was held in honor of His Majesty the King’s 84th anniversary.  The Bike Club for Health of Luang Por Pool were principal organizers of the event, which they hoped would promote the use of bicycles as a more environmentally friendly mode of transport as well as being good for one’s health.

The income generated from this year’s competition will go towards supporting the Tanlom School building renovation project.  This race drew mountain bike riders from all over the Kingdom to participate, including 12 Asian and Thai champions.
