Sunday, June 7, Green Valley – Stableford

It was another hot and humid day at Green Valley and we had a fairly large group out so six people managed to get in the prizes.

There were some very good scores posted and Russell Gilroy continued to hold form despite a large cut to his handicap, coming in sixth place with thirty four points.  Brendan Roddy went one better to take fifth spot and then we had three players tied on thirty nine points: Walter Panichi, playing off a one handicap, went round in two under par gross after calling a one shot penalty against himself for a double tap in a bunker but due to the count back he only came fourth, William Bishop placed third and Declan Kelly came out best of the trio to claim second.  Alec Hoare was the man of the match today and was a clear winner with forty points.

Tuesday, June 9, Mt. Shadow – Stableford

It was almost a private golf course for us today at Mountain Shadow with hardly a soul in sight.  We had a smaller group out today and decided to play off the longer blue tees.  Despite the fact that there has been very little rain so far this year the course was still in good condition.

The scoring wasn’t very good today and Declan Kelly, after coming second on Sunday, had to settle for third today with thirty two points, but he also got the only ‘2’ of the day.  Francis McGuigan was second with thirty four and Joe McArdle was the only man to break his handicap and won with thirty seven points.

Thursday, June 11, Burapha – Stableford

Back on the A and B nines today and the course was busy as they had a big competition on the C and D nines.

We believe everyone should enjoy their golf and we again gave everyone in our large group a choice of which tees they wanted to play off, blue or white, with most of them opting for the longer blues.

We had only two players who managed to beat their handicaps today; Joe McArdle has been on form and he repeated his Tuesday score to win once again, but this time on a count back over Thomas Neilson.  In third place was William Bishop with thirty four points and Andrew Purdie took fourth a further point back.  Norman Cheetham came fifth with thirty, beating Walter Panichi on a count back.

Off the white tees John Fenwick was the winner with thirty three points and Tony Aston came in second with thirty one.
