The groups are starting to get larger and again we had two flights with the cut coming in at fifteen.

Pal Anderssen came out the winner of the A flight with thirty six points, beat Rodney Weeks on a count-back.  Craig Hitchens got third with thirty five points.  We then had three players with thirty three points and both Andy Featherstone and Bob St Aubin lost out on count-back to JJ Harney.

The best score of the day came in the B flight where Russell Gilroy won with thirty seven points, one ahead of Donal McGuigan in second while Paula Koppatz came third with thirty five.  We had two players with thirty four points but Terry Mangan won the count-back over Joe Peters.

Andy Featherstone again won the most money of the day as he had the only ‘2’.

Tuesday, Nov. 21, Pattavia – Stableford

A Flight

1st Andy Featherstone (5) 38pts

2nd Colm Lawlor (15) 36pts

3rd Phelim Moran (11) 35pts

4th JJ Harney (14) 34pts

B Flight

1st Joe Peters (24) 34pts

2nd Pat Carty (27) 33pts

3rd Donal McGuigan (19) 31pts

4th John Fenwick (20) 30pts

We had our largest group for this season so we had two flights with the cut coming in at sixteen.  The course was soft and playing very long which meant that except with one notable exception the scoring was pretty average.

Andy Featherstone was again the exception and he went round in three over par to post thirty eight points and be a clear winner of the A flight.  Colm Lawlor came second by playing to his handicap and Phelim Moran was third with thirty five.

The scoring wasn’t quite as good in the B flight where Joe Peters won with thirty four points.  Pat Carty came second on e behind and Donal McGuigan was third with thirty one.

The highlight of the day was Joe McArdle’s hole in one, his second in Thailand, as he walked away with all the ‘2’s pot.

Thursday, Nov. 23, Khao Khaow – Stableford

A Flight

1st Gerry Hannan (12) 36pts

2nd Andy Featherstone (5) 35pts

3rd Mark Lang (7) 34pts

B Flight

1st Mike Korney (18) 33pts

2nd Pat Carty (27) 32pts

3rd Don Everett (23) 31pts

We again played the A and B courses at Khao Kheow, taking up the challenge of the longer yellow tees.  Maybe it was a bit too much of a challenge as only one of our group managed to play to his handicap.

Gerry Hannan won the A flight with the best score of the day while Andy Featherstone kept up his good golf to come second with thirty five points and Mark Lang came third with thirty four.

Mike Korney joined us today after a long absence and made it a profitable return as he won the B flight with thirty three points.  Pat Carty came second with thirty two and Don Everett third with thirty one.

Gerry Hannan, Mike Korney, Joe Peters and Jon Batty each took a share of the ‘2’s pot.
