Wednesday, June 28, Silky Oaks – Stableford

After the round today there were many negative comments regarding the condition of the course, which the management did not relate to us until after we had all paid our green fees.

Paul Butler won the day with 37 points on his card, edging out Frank Grainger 21/14 on a back-nine count back.  In third place was John Doyle with 34 points.

Near pins were claimed by (Div 1) Terry Madsen and Bob Poole, and (Div 2) Frank Grainger and David Taylor.

Paul Butler birdied the 6th for the only ‘2’ of the day to scoop the first division pot.

Friday, June 30, Eastern Star – Stableford

There was heavy rain here overnight on the course but after a quick inspection on a couple of fairways before we teed off, we decided that the ‘pick, clean and place’ ruling was not necessary.

Frank Grainger recorded the best score of the day, winning division 2 with 35 points while the organiser Glyn Evans was runner up with 32.

Paul Butler topped the division 1 standings on 33 points with Brian Green second on 29.

Near pins went to (Div 1) Brian Green and Tom Yahnke, and (Div 2) Jurgen Heinzius and Curtis Hessler.

Tom Yahnke birdied the 3rd in division 1 to record the sole ‘2’ of the day.
