Sunday, June 15, Green Valley – Stableford

A Flight

1st Pat Reagan (12) 39pts

2nd Mick Skilton (7) 38pts

3rd C. Murray (7) 35pts

B Flight

1st Lou Szigligeti (20) 42pts

2nd Jim Bell (17) 39pts

3rd Jorn Finnerup (23) 36pts

It is well known amongst those who are resident in Pattaya that we have to get our friends early, before they have chance to acclimate to the Pattaya night life in the case of the visitor or before they get the rust out of their swings, in the case of the lads returning from work.

Lou Szigligeti (left) celebrates with Paul and Nick.

Aussie Lou ‘Zigzag’ did not run according to form as he opened his Pattaya stay with a man of the match performance on Friday and a brilliant 42 points for B Flight victory.  Lou was three clear of Jimmy ‘AK-47’ Bell while Jorn Finnerup served notice he might be heading back to form as he nicked the bronze on count back from the unlucky Ian Jones.

Irishman Pat Reagan used his course knowledge to rack up 39 points and keep his hold on the A Flight top podium spot.  Pat had five birdies on the day and three of them were 2’s, pity it wasn’t about six weeks ago.  Second placed Nick Skelton also had a birdie in his solid 38 points while C. Murray took the short climb to the bronze step with a useful 35 points.

Monday, June 29, Plutaluang – Stableford

1st Lou Szigligeti (20) 41pts

2nd Ian Pickles (17) 40pts

3rd Frid Timbrell (12) 39pts

Hey what’s going on?  He’s done it again!  Aussie superstar Lou Szigligeti sailed round the Navy course to win his third game on the trot with a blistering 41 points.  One can only hope he carries on with this form because his new handicap will require it.  To be fair, Ian Pickles was only a shot adrift for the silver podium spot.  Non-member Frid Timbrell rounded out the flight with a very impressive 39 points.

Friday, July 3, Pattana – Stableford

1st Lou Szigligeti (20) 34pts

2nd Maurice Roberts (12) 33pts

3rd Peter Henshaw (22) 32pts

There is no better way to finish the week than with a trip to the Gussan designed Pattana and the course, as always, was a tough test of golf as the scores would indicate.

Again it was Lou Szigligeti who led the boys into the barn with 34 points, playing off his old handicap and making it four wins out of four games.  Lou was trailed in by Maurice Roberts and Peter ‘the silver surfer’ Henshaw in one shot increments and in that order.
