IPGC Golf from the Tara Court

Sunday, March 10, Mt. Shadow — Stableford

It is getting noticeably quieter here now and today we got off the tee nearly 30 mins before our tee time.  It’s also starting to get a bit hotter now that we are well into March.

Charlie Lapsley took the honors again today for the second Sunday in a row with an excellent 39pts and he also got the only 2 so a good payday for Charlie!

Charlie Lapsley.Charlie Lapsley.

In second place was Joe McArdle with 34 points followed by Gerry O’Dwyre with 33 and in fourth was Ted Murphy with 30.

Back at O’Garas Bar and Restaurant we said goodbye to Cathal Donoghue and James Byrne who had their last game with us for this trip.  I hope they are enjoying the nice snow back in Ireland!

1st Charlie Lapsley (9) 39pts

2nd Joe McArdle (15) 34pts

3rd Gerry O’Dwyre (8) 33pts

4th Ted Murphy (23) 30pts

2’s:  Charlie Lapsley

Tuesday, March 12, Khao Kheow – Stableford

We were at Khao Kheow today to play the C and A courses.  There was a group in front of us on the A course who were playing very slowly but fortunately they went on to the B course so we were able to speed up when we got on to A and still got round in a reasonable time.

As usual the course was in very good condition although the greens don’t seem to be as fast as they used to be.  Nobody managed to play to their handicap and Charlie Lapsley won again with 33pts.  Charlie has had a very successful trip this year and has been playing very good golf.

Robert Hanson was second with 29pts and in his last game with us for this trip was Gerry O’Dwyre in third with 27.  Not very good scoring today but it is a very difficult course.

There were no 2’s so a carry over to Thursday.

1st Charlie Lapsley (9) 33pts

2nd Robert Hanson (18) 29pts

3rd Gerry O’Dwyre 27pts

Thursday, March 14, Laem Chabang – Stableford

We were back at the most beautiful course of them all today, Leam Chabang where we played B and C courses.  Unfortunately the heavens opened and we got thunder and lightning and very heavy rain which made the course unplayable so we had to call it off after 15 holes, so no competition or results today.

On another note, why do some people put their names down on the time sheet and then not turn up?  It is very bad manners and is not acceptable and these people will not be welcome with us in the future.

As I said no results today but we will be back here again next week and don’t forget we can get up to 40% discount on the Green Fees and (almost) everyone is welcome to join us.

Note:  The Tara Court Golf Group plays every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, leaving O’Gara’s Bar and Restaurant at the Tara Court on Pratamnak Rd around 10.00 a.m.  Sign up either in O’Gara’s or ring George on 087 540 0844 and he will book you in.
