Sunday, August 14, Green Valley – Stableford

1st J.P. Maffray (14) 43pts

2nd Colin Davis (21) 37pts

Just 5 of us today but J.P. Maffray put on a short game display that was something to watch.  J.P. single putted the first 6 holes and continued in similar fashion for the entire round, with a total of just 23 putts for 18 holes and a stableford score of 43 points.

Playing partner The Donkey was hanging onto J.P.’s coat-tails and came  home with 37 points for second place.

Monday, August 15, Khao Kheow B & C – Stableford

1st Steve Baker (18) 37pts

2nd Ed Wyckoff (13) 35pts

3rd Mogen’s Melander (23) 34pts

12 players today for Khao Kheow and the ever-present Steve Baker was the man to watch as his solid as a rock 37 points garnered the top place on the podium.  Ed Wyckoff trailed in second 2 points behind and Mogens Melander was third a further point back.

Near pins went to Greg Bates  &  Tip Briney.

Wednesday, August 17, Burapha A & B – Stableford

A Flight

1st Colin Davis (20) 38pts

2nd Nick Shaw (18) 37pts

B Flight

1st Mogen’s Melander (23) 42pts

2nd Neil Smith (35) 39pts

A little better turnout for Burapha today with 15 players in total and the weather looked good despite the forecast.

The field was split into 2 flights and the star-turn came in the B Flight from Mogens Melander who returned with 42 points on his scorecard to earn top billing.  Mogens was three clear of Neil Smith in second place.

Colin ‘The Donkey’ Davis hung on by a single point to win the A Flight, his 38 points proving to be just enough to see him take first place ahead of Nick ‘Elvis’ Shaw.

Near pins were claimed by Colin Hopkins & Mike Omiya while the longest putt award went to Mogen’s Melander.

Friday, August 19, Crystal Bay C & B – Stableford

A Flight

1st Christen Boysen (8) 42pts

2nd Colin Davis (20) 36pts

B Flight

1st New Satita (32) 41pts

2nd Barry Oats (24) 38pts

Crystal Bay was the challenge today, with 14 players in 2 flights taking on the C & B courses in that order.

This day turned into the Christen and New show as first Christen Boysen took out the A flight with a lifetime best 2 over gross 42 points, six clear of The Donkey in second, and then New Satita followed suit with a 41-pointer to take out the B Flight ahead of Barry Oats.  Christen and New’s playing partners, Iain Jones and Kent Gustuasson, could only look on in amazement.

Near pins went to Colin Davis & Greg Bates and the long putt to Colin Hopkins.
