PSC golf from The Golf Club Sports Bar

Monday, Jan 3, Green Valley – Stableford

1st Dave Mather (10) 41pts

2nd Tim Wilkinson (5) 39pts

3rd Henry O’Brien (16) 35pts

4th Gabriel Enright (18) 34pts

Dave Mather had his A game today, firing a masterful 41 points (and that with a blob on the outward nine).  The flat stick was on fire and the drums beating in head kept him in calm.

Tim Wilkinson was second with 39 points and the ever steady Henry O’Brien finished third with 35, one ahead of the ‘Thunder from Down Under’ Gabriel Enright in fourth.

Tuesday, Jan 4, Kabin Buri Sports Club – Stableford

2nd Graham Johnson (7) 36pts

3rd Ernie McInerney (14) 34pts

4th Courtney Bailey (32)pts

2nd Kevin Moraghan (15) 34pts

3rd Steve Ellison (16) 32pts

4th Eldridge Suggs (18) 31pts

2’s: Warren Holland, Graham Johnson, JJ Wright.

We had another fine turnout for our away trip to Kabin Buri; 40 golfers and a smattering of guests and wives brought our total count to 55.

A smooth check-in at the Kantary Hotel and then a not so smooth 12 o’clock start at the course.  Kaptain Klipboard was kept busy herding the kats from tee to tee.  It seems the Korean contingent have also found this hidden gem.

A Flight was won by John McHugh with 37 points with Graham Johnson second on 36.  The ‘Boston Bomber’ Ernie McInerney took third with 34 points and Courtney Bailey was fourth two further back.

B Flight produced the high points total of Day 1; Warren Holland avoided the trouble and more importantly the bunkers to score a fine 42 points.  Kevin Moraghan managed his way around in 34 and Steve Ellison was third on 32, one ahead of Eldridge Suggs.

We arrived back to the hotel for a spectacular buffet, prize presentation and a few libations.

Wednesday, Jan. 5, Kabin Buri Sports Club – Stableford

A Flight (0-14)

1st John McHugh (12) 38pts

2nd Dave Mather (10) 38pts

3rd Tim Wilkinson (5) 37pts

4th Ernie McInerney (14) 35pts

B Flight (15+)

1st James Maloney (22) 34pts

2nd Mickey Anersson (18) 33pts

3rd Don Lehmar (17) 33pts

4th John Baxter (16) 31pts

2’s: Dave Driscoll, Tim Wilkinson, Micheal Jones, Callum Inglis.

Day 2 started out much the same with a few hiccups getting off the tees and then was compounded at the turn.  Eventually the day was over and the results are as follows.

A Flight had a repeat winner in John McHugh.  The thermos was carefully mixed and another steady round of 38 points resulted.  Dave Mather, true to form, played well on the second day with 38 points, losing on count-back 19 to 18.  Tim Wilkinson dropped his extra caddie from day one and had a much better result with 37 points to finish third and ‘The Boston Bomber’ played consistent and finished with 35 for fourth.

The lower flight had a whole new look for the frame winners: James Maloney took the first spot with 34 points, the ‘Sweet Swinging Swede’ Mickey Andersson had 33 for second, Don Lehmer was surprised to find out he finished third, also with 33, and John Baxter took fourth on 31.

We had a quick check-out and then headed back to The Golf Club for prizes and even more libations.  Thanks to all that attended and stay tuned for the next away trip.

Friday, Jan. 7, Greenwood B & C – Stableford

1st Brad Sproxton (12) 36pts

2nd Capt. Bob Finley (12) 36pts

3rd Warren Holland (24) 36pts

We had a smaller group today with 19 golfers.  When the dust settled there were three tied on 36 points and after the calculations were done Brad Sproxton finished on top with a back nine of 24 (apparently the Singha got to the right level from the Kabin Buri trip).  Capt. Bob Finley finished with a back nine of 19 and Warren Holland had 17 on the back nine.
