Now that the numbers are starting to go up we decided to run two flights here in an ever-improving Green Valley.

We had reasonably good scores in, especially in the B flight where we had two players with thirty eight points with Terry Mangan winning the count-back over Paula Kopatz.  Ian Corica got the third place with thirty three points.

In the A flight Craig Hitchens won for the second week in a row, this time with thirty six points.  We then had four players with thirty five points where Joe McArdle won the count back on the last six holes to claim second place and Paddy Naughton came third.  Both Jerry Sweetnam and Andy Featherstone lost out and were out of the prizes today.

Kevin Blake had a very good payday as he had the only ‘2’ of the day.

Tuesday, Oct. 31,
Mt. Shadow – Stableford

We had 14 players today at Mountain Shadow and we were greeted with fine cooler weather & a good strong wind.  The course is in good condition & the greens are starting to get faster again.

Six players took on the tougher “blue” tees and the winner today was Craig Hitchens (15) with 35 points, three ahead of Phelim Moran (10) in second place with 32.  Phelim also recorded two ‘2’s and Andy Featherstone had one.

The “white” tee winner today was Per Forsberg (16) with 36 points and second place went to Joe McArdle (17) with 32.  Paddy Naughton and Per Forsberg shared the 2’s pot.

Thursday, Nov. 2, Khao Kheow – Stableford

1st Paddy Naughton (18) 43pts

2nd Joe McArdle (17) 41pts

3rd Kevin Blake (7) 37pts

It has been a long time now since we played here in Khao Kheow and today we found it in excellent condition with fast greens and very good fairways.  The scoring was also very good, especially as this is known as a very difficult course and if you didn’t beat your handicap you weren’t in the prizes.

Kevin Blake got the third place with thirty seven points, Joe McArdle had forty one but had to settle for second place, and Paddy Naughton, who was playing his last game for this trip, had an excellent score of forty three points to take top spot.  When he comes back in the new year he will also find his handicap drastically reduced!

We also had five ‘2’s today, coming from Joe McArdle (2), Paul Semple, Phelim Moran and Daryl Burkett.
