PSC Golf from Mulligans Lakeside

Tuesday, March 6, Treasure Hill – Stableford

Tuesday we travelled to Treasure Hill where I must say usually I am a big rap for this course and management, but today they let not only us, but themselves down.  Last year when they were working on greens, they provided clear advice of this and a suitable discount, so everybody was aware and appreciated their honesty.  Tuesday, not so much, no advice, no discount and some greens were unplayable due to sand and mounds of corings etc.  Might miss a month or so at TH, which is a pity, but there are always other places to go!

Bob Edwards (9) came to terms with the conditions best, recording 33 points for the win, followed in by Mam (26) with 32.

“Don’t squeeze me too hard, I’m delicate.” - Mam & Bob.“Don’t squeeze me too hard, I’m delicate.” – Mam & Bob.

Near pins went one each to Monte and Bob, with Jonathan grabbing a brace.

Thursday, March 8, Wangjuntr – Stableford

Thursday was a visit to Wangjuntr, to play the Valley course and the consensus was to play the Blues (Gold is the tips), as White was too short to get an appreciation of the course.  We decided on no comp today, just concentrate on what is advertised as the highest rated officially (71.8/124 from Blue) course in Thailand.

The course generally was good, although the greens did not quite measure up to the expected standard of the rest of the course.  All agreed that the trip was worthwhile, so we may well go back again in the not so distant future.

Friday, March 9, Pattaya C.C. – Stableford

Big day Friday with Terry Phur’s 75th Birthday Golf Day and over 50 players turned out at Pattaya Country Club.  With the scheduled tee-off of 12 noon golfers were soon under way, battling it out for the array of prizes offered.

Ladies winners were separated after count back, with Nu Watson (36) edging Kath Doody (17) 18/15, after both signed for 34 points.  The men’s winner, posting the best score of the day, was Ian Hart (17) with 38 points, ahead of Geoff Doody (22) who signed for 37.  Third & Fourth required a count back; Clive Hoseason (29) getting the nod over Dave Edwards (18) 21/18, both having recorded 36 points.

Near pins on the par 3s were won by Gerry, Clayton, Ian & Kathy, while Jim got the second shot approach on the 6th hole.  Not forgetting the longest 1st putt, going to Mam with 9ft4in.

After golf it was back to Mulligans Lakeside for the usual superb buffet & cold beverages provided by Ray, Kheow & staff, before partying into the night.  A great day & night was had by all, Many Happy Returns to Terry, hip hip hooray!

Note:  Mulligans Lakeside plays golf generally on Tuesday & Thursday, with ML hosting prompt presentations on both days.  Call 0890941841 for scheduling or enquiries.  Hope to see you there, cheers & good golfing!
