Sunday, March 19, Green Valley – Stableford

1st Colin Davis (23) 38pts

2nd Fred Birch (16) 38pts

3rd Bill Eyles (23) 37pts

4th Garry Emmett (16) 37pts

 

We had 15 players out today at Green Valley, which was set up for the Singha Championship and presented in perfect condition.

Colin ‘the Donkey’ Davis, playing in the final group posted 38 points to take first place ahead of Fred Birch on count back while another count back was required to decide third place, with Bill Eyles edging Gary Emmett, both on 37 points.

The near pins were claimed by Jorn Finnerup & Bill Eyles and the longest putt by Francis Bathurt.

 

Monday, March 20, Bangpakong Riverside – Stableford

1st Nigel Harrison (28) 46pts

2nd Thomas Nyborg (15) 44pts

3rd John Harrison (11) 41pts

 

The course was in perfect condition today as was shown in the scoring.  It turned into a great day for the Harrison family as Nigel returned an unbeatable 46 points off his 26-handicap while John took third with 41.  Sandwiched in between them was Thomas Nyborg, playing off the blues tees, who must have thought he had done enough for the win with 44 points but had to settle for second place on the podium.

Nigel Harrison picked up a couple of near pin awards to complete his day.

 

Friday, March 24, Mt. Shadow – Stableford

14 players today for Mountain Shadow and when we got to the course it was not very busy and we could go straight off.

Out to impress his caddy, Barry Oats had a blob-free back-nine to post an impressive 37 points but he was piped at the post on count back by Mogens Jensen who was playing in the last group.

and finished off impressing himself 19 pts on the front with just one blob  a nd a back nine blob free 18 pts for 37 pts.

The near pins were claimed by JP Maffray and Colin Davis while the longest putt was slotted in by Dave Nicolson.
