Bangpra – Stableford

A totally deserted course here today and we teed off 25 minutes ahead of schedule with two divisions out and the equal cut set at 6-16 and 17+.

Bruce Gardner.
Bruce Gardner.

Bob Poole returned the best score of the day, winning division 2 with 35 points, while William Chang came in second with 33 and Jeff Greer was third on 31.

In the first division, Martin Grimoldby was the winner with 33 points, five ahead of Dave Horne in second on 28 and Alan Bissell took third with 27.

It was a tough test out there today with the majority of pins in awkward positions and this was reflected in the scores.

Near pins went to (Div 1) Alan Bissell, Martin Grimoldby and Dave Horne (2), and (Div 2) Jeff Greer, Steve Harris and Bob Poole.

Not surprisingly there are no ‘2’s in either division so three rollovers in division 1 and five in division 2 to Pattaya C.C. on Wednesday.

Wednesday, Sept. 28, Pattaya C.C. – Stableford

Our first visit here for a couple of months for various reasons and with quite a few 18 handicappers out today the equal cut was set at 14-17.8 and 18.3 plus.

Arthur Hancock won division 1 with a fine round of 40 points.  Dave Horne came in second with 35 points on his card and Bruce Gardner was third with 33.

Marty Aronson with 33 points topped division 2 standings, with Curtis Hessler second one point behind and Steven Cliff filled the last podium spot in third with 31.

Near pins were claimed by (Div 1) Steve Godfrey and Arthur Hancock (2), and (Div 2) Marty Aronson and Don Head (3).

With Paul Young making birdie on the 5th in division 1 and Don Head doing likewise on the 16th in division 2, there were some happy faces later during the presentation at Frasers.  Miss Nut was a happy lady as well, we wonder why?

Friday, Sept. 30,
Eastern Star – Stableford

Today was a non-counting competition at Eastern Star and just a one off game with 15 players taking part.  Tony Thorne won the day with 36 points, Darryl Blair came second on 33, and Colin Aspinall was third after beating Wilf Latham and Dave Stockman on a back-nine count back (17/16/15) after they all scored 32 points.
